A great lesson I had the privileged to experience is the ability for someone to distract me from the topic at hand. The greatest line by the person distracting our boss from the subject we were meeting on was “When you are in trouble, distract them? This goes on all the time and you must be aware of this phenomenon. People do this and especially people in responsible position.. Rather than responding to a situation or answering the question, you soon find yourself on another topic. The topic for you to consider is the talk by  Apollo Robbins: The art of misdirection

Do not let distractions remove your focus from developing an effective world view. Even more important is for you to learn how others use their world view, to safeguard their paradigms.
