The use of words, phrases, and expressions intend to convey an idea. Paradigms comes from the Greek and Latin meaning showing side by side used as a model of ideas about how something should be done or how you think about something. Each individual has a paradigm about things in life; this is your system of knowledge. Therefore, if you grew up in a loving family you have a different paradigm then someone in a dysfunctional or abusive family environment. Each person develops their unique paradigm of the world, via experiences, relationships, and teachings. Paradigms are as individualistic as each person is. Paradigms are what defines your worldview.

Your worldview is the basis (or model) by which you judge and compare all other ideas. It is natural for you to think that everyone thinks like you, because you see the world from this frame of reference. In most circumstances, a majority of your peers have the same basic concepts about particular points of view. Thus, a great majority can agree on some basics, such as patriotism, motherhood, honesty, fidelity, etc. however, even in these basic ideas, there are many variations depending on your experience or observations. Worldview will change depending on your personal experiences. In addition, they can change on the basis of your observations. Therefore, paradigms are dynamic, unless you refuse to allow other ideas to enter your mental model. Some refuse to adjust their paradigms, mostly because they feel threatened. If you are afraid of new ideas, or considering other paradigms, you will create a distorted worldview.

Because worldviews are subject to time and knowledge, you cannot refuse to adapt to at least thinking about other ideas. The world will not stop changing, because you are afraid to change. It does not mean that all changes are good or productive. There are times that you need to understand a bad idea or change, in order to develop an effective new idea. Resist the fear and anxiety of alternate paradigms. Progress and growth are the result of analyzing what you do not understand. Promote an environment of taking unknown or uncomfortable ideas to create a new perspective. Evaluate your paradigm against strange paradigms to reach a better level, a new paradigm. Sharing a revised paradigm with others will lead to a transformation. This transformation is the result of dialogue with other paradigms, reaching an understanding of the reality of today against the foundation of your past. Until paradigms grow and change, ultimate change is impossible.
